1 year stats

Addison had her 1 year well baby check this week...Monday, June 8th.

I forgot my camera so I'm a little bummed about that.

Here are her stats...

weight: 17lbs 13oz - 5%tile - she is finally back on the chart. she's been below it for most of her little life.

length: 29 inches - 45%tile

head: 45.3 - 55%tile

*********************************************************************************************

she's doing great. she will have to wait a little while before we can turn her car seat around but that's OK...she doesn't know what she's missing! here are a few things she we are noticing about her lately...

*she is hilarious...real sense of humor this girl.
*loves to clap
*can say mama, dada, bye bye, hello - holds something up to her ear when she does this like she is on the phone...can you tell what mama is teaching by example! :)
*loves her brothers and the attention they shower on her
*is taking steps
*cruising and crawling are her main ways of getting where she needs to go
*still loves sucking those two middle fingers
*loves sleeping with her blanket, dolly, and bunny - she rubs her bunny's ears and it is SO cute
*giggles when i lay her down to sleep...she LOVES her bed!
*LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to eat. with as little as she is, you would be AMAZED at how much this girl can put in that little body
*when i say she is little, compact is almost a better description. she is muscular and petite. she isn't scrawny or "skinny" but she doesn't have those baby rolls that we all love so much.
*she loves the dog...squeals in delight
*she's a singer...if i have music on in the car she just sings and sings...you know i LOVE that
*separation anxiety is definitely in full swing...she's fine after a few minutes but leaving her always gets a good fit out of her.
*we're down to 3 feedings. the weaning process has been more difficult with her and i'm afraid it may continue to be for a little bit.
*she's drinking from a sippy cup
*signing more and working on please
*taking 2 naps a day and sleeping 11-12 hours a night
*LOVES people and smiles at everyone
*entertains herself better than the boys ever did. wondering if this is a 3rd child thing or just her temperament. we'll take it either way!
*always putting things in her mouth and freaking mommy out! if you say, "Addison, what is in your mouth?" she will immediately take it out, hand it to you and smile. what a little stinker! :)
*she loves the pool and looks awfully cute in her swimsuits!

the RODEO!!!

aren't we a good lookin' bunch! :) i can't believe i haven't posted about this already. i have a good excuse. my camera battery was dead and while these sweet friends, Janet & Erin, sent me their photos the next day...i forgot they were in my email and hadn't downloaded them to my computer. i realized it the other day! oh my goodness...it was such a fun time and i'm happy to share the pictures almost a month later! we went Tuesday night, May 19th! good grief!

it's a great little rodeo. one exit up from our house. they have it every Tuesday night starting in May and it runs until the fall. Anthony and Mimi took the boys last year after Addison was born and loved it. i was SO excited to join them this time! we went with our good friends the Megilligan's and my singing/running friend Erin and her children. we had such an amazing time! the kids LOVED every minute of it. Harrison and Jackson were thrilled to be wearing their cowboy hats and boots and excited to be rubbing shoulders with REAL cowboys!!!!

the pictures speak for themselves...we had a GREAT time and hope to go back after the weather cools down a bit! man it's hot around here!

Leah

Lindsey

Jackson

can you tell this boy is loving this??? :)

what cuties!

what a fun night out!

the girls petting the pony

Harrison's turn! My little cowboy! Luke, Reece and Austin decided they didn't want to ride.

Addison didn't get to ride but we had to put her up there for a quick photo shoot!

Here they are, ready for the show! Janet had these adorable bandanna's for the kids to wear! they looked SO cute! we were sitting all the way at the top of the bleachers so i was a little worried we may have a kid fall through but they made it. :) when will i ever stop worrying?? :)

Erin & Luke...Luke and Jackson are in the same Sunday school class to together so they are good buds. :)

isn't this a GREAT family photo! you Megilligan's are very photogenic! :)

Leah & Jackson

Reece

such a great picture of Austin! what a handsome boy!

here are the kids trying to catch the calf. hilarious! Jackson was in his boot...remember the boot? so he didn't go out with the kids but he was really bummed. next they had the chicken dance and Janet, Erin, & i decided we would go and we took Jackson too. i was worried his boot would be totally gross after being out in that arena but it turned out OK.

trying to keep from falling through the bleachers ourselves

i think Brian must have enjoyed taking all these silly pictures of us. good thing he had that zoom lens! ha ha ha!

after the bull riding, they had the ladies come out with their horses to get ready for the barrel racing. one of the riders brought her horse over for the kids to pet it. they LOVED that!

it was such a fun night!!

hope to do it again before the summer is over!

duty...doodie

while reading a devotion to the boys the other night this is what transpired...i started with the verse at the top of the page...

Me: "Children, it is your Christian duty to obey your parents. Ephesians 6:1-4"

Jackson: "OOOOhhhhhh!!!! dem (them) said doodie"

a good laugh was had by all and then we started again. :)

Grace

my sister Grace got some terrible news last Thursday. she's been trying to get pregnant. after her second miscarriage since February and two D&C's she has found out that she cannot have any more children. it would be life threatening for her to have another baby.

she is brokenhearted and devastated. she has two precious girls of her own and is very blessed to be their mother. but, she is still SO sad. she wanted a bigger family and was longing to have another child.

i drove up to VA this past weekend to be with her and spend some time with her girls. we're all loving on her, Tom is taking good care of her.

please pray for her.

Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
(The Message)

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Lord, please help me to be self-controlled today! please help me to keep from 'flying off the handle' at my family today! Help me to show them LOVE! YOUR LOVE! not some distorted version of my own love for them. help me to LOVE today. everyday. but, especially...TODAY. i must start with TODAY!

Our little 1 year old

this dress was either Baylee's or Savannah's. Grace has been so generous with all the beautiful girl clothes she has let us borrow! we are SO thankful!

Mimi took these pictures of our big girl before church. she and i were heading to church early. i was singing in the choir for our morning with Travis Cottrell (which was AWESOME by the way).

doesn't she look pretty! she had just learned to clap the night before so she was showing off her newest trick!

pictures from the party coming up next!

Lady's Home

She's a spoiled little thing, isn't she?
Her previous owner had gotten her used to blankets covering her crate. I didn't like the idea of random blankets being draped over the crate all day. I really wanted her crate to look nice and not to bother me and me not to wish it was gone every time I looked at it. I really am trying to set us up for success over here. :)

I ordered this adorable crate bedding online from Petsmart. I love it. I think she feels like she's something else in her comfy, cozy, fancy, smancy bed! :) and I don't feel like it's an eye sore.

the gate

our neighbors added a gate to their fence to connect our yards. our kids play together so much as it is and i guess we were feeling a little bit lazy about having to walk half a block to get over there or walk through another neighbors yard. :)

it has been awesome! the kids have never played better. they go back and forth between the yards and of course our boys are so excited to use the play set. we love our neighbors and we have agreed many times this was the best thing we could have ever done. even our other neighbors have been able to take a faster route through our yard. we're just one big happy family around here i guess! :)

two steps at a time

Addison took her first steps today!

She took 2 little steps and then dropped to her knees. She did it two times in a row. I was SO excited!

Later she did it again I think 3 times. It's so cute! I'll try to get it on video tomorrow!

A friend said she must have been holding out until she was officially ONE! I bet that's it! :)

WOW...do I really want her walking. It's cute and all but walking sure will complicate things around here and I'm still getting used to the dog. :)

I do have to say...she is the cutest little thing. Because she is just that, LITTLE...TINY...ITTY BITTY...it kind of looks hilarious to see her taking steps and I bet it will really be strange when she's walking.

Harrison keeps saying "is she really one? she just doesn't look like she's one." I asked him why and he says it's because she's too little.

she is little. :) and she's taking steps. and she's SO CUTE!!!
