Addison's 1st Birthday Party - Eating the cake!

I'm telling you, there are a TON of pictures! :) Here is the cake play by play. She started off a little cautious and then quickly figured out she liked what we were giving her! Such a cutie!

the funniest part was that the kids who were watching her, started helping after a while. she didn't do all that damage herself! :) i think they were getting a little impatient and wanted a piece of cake! don't worry, we gave them some!

we started off the party with snow cones. i've been wanting a snow cone machine for a couple of years. my friend Laura has one and at her house was the first time i saw one. so much fun and the kids LOVE it. perfect for HOT summer days. the party was my "excuse" to finally get one! :)

I wanted cakes with polka dots and Nanny did such a GREAT job on them. They could not have been any cuter...or any yummier! :)

the little cake in the center was Addison's. it had one of my Nanny's signature clowns on it . :)

I know it's been almost a month since Addison's party but I knew that I would need to post 500 pictures...you're hoping not, right! :) There are a TON of pictures because my precious Mother-in-love has a very quick finger! I love it that she takes so many but I also knew it would take me a while to get them up on here. So, here is a blast from the past...the birthday party photos. It's fun to relive it, it was a fun day!

My Mom, Nanny, and Granddaddy were able to pop up for the party. I was SO happy they could be here. My Nanny made the cakes and if you have ever tasted one of her cakes you KNOW how incredible they are! I cannot even begin to explain how yummy it is! My neighbors and friends here in Raleigh are STILL talking about those cakes. :) We decided to invite a lot of friends to celebrate with us and just have cake, punch, and munchies. It was special to have these sweet friends with us who have gotten to know Addison from before she was even born. Thank you for celebrating with us! Also, you will see from the pictures that I could hardly contain myself from decorating with more than enough balloons and PINK! I just couldn't help myself. Mom W. and I (mostly Mom W.) blew up over 70 balloons to make the flowers and they turned out SO cute! PINK exploded in our house and I loved it! I am having so much fun with this girl stuff, can you tell? :)

1 year stats

Addison had her 1 year well baby check this week...Monday, June 8th.

I forgot my camera so I'm a little bummed about that.

Here are her stats...

weight: 17lbs 13oz - 5%tile - she is finally back on the chart. she's been below it for most of her little life.

length: 29 inches - 45%tile

head: 45.3 - 55%tile

she's doing great. she will have to wait a little while before we can turn her car seat around but that's OK...she doesn't know what she's missing! here are a few things she we are noticing about her lately...

*she is hilarious...real sense of humor this girl.
*loves to clap
*can say mama, dada, bye bye, hello - holds something up to her ear when she does this like she is on the phone...can you tell what mama is teaching by example! :)
*loves her brothers and the attention they shower on her
*is taking steps
*cruising and crawling are her main ways of getting where she needs to go
*still loves sucking those two middle fingers
*loves sleeping with her blanket, dolly, and bunny - she rubs her bunny's ears and it is SO cute
*giggles when i lay her down to sleep...she LOVES her bed!
*LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to eat. with as little as she is, you would be AMAZED at how much this girl can put in that little body
*when i say she is little, compact is almost a better description. she is muscular and petite. she isn't scrawny or "skinny" but she doesn't have those baby rolls that we all love so much.
*she loves the dog...squeals in delight
*she's a singer...if i have music on in the car she just sings and sings...you know i LOVE that
*separation anxiety is definitely in full swing...she's fine after a few minutes but leaving her always gets a good fit out of her.
*we're down to 3 feedings. the weaning process has been more difficult with her and i'm afraid it may continue to be for a little bit.
*she's drinking from a sippy cup
*signing more and working on please
*taking 2 naps a day and sleeping 11-12 hours a night
*LOVES people and smiles at everyone
*entertains herself better than the boys ever did. wondering if this is a 3rd child thing or just her temperament. we'll take it either way!
*always putting things in her mouth and freaking mommy out! if you say, "Addison, what is in your mouth?" she will immediately take it out, hand it to you and smile. what a little stinker! :)
*she loves the pool and looks awfully cute in her swimsuits!

this dress was either Baylee's or Savannah's. Grace has been so generous with all the beautiful girl clothes she has let us borrow! we are SO thankful!

Mimi took these pictures of our big girl before church. she and i were heading to church early. i was singing in the choir for our morning with Travis Cottrell (which was AWESOME by the way).

doesn't she look pretty! she had just learned to clap the night before so she was showing off her newest trick!
