First day of School August 25, 2011
Last Day of School June 7, 2012

 1st day of 4th Grade
 Last day of 4th grade

1st day of 1st Grade
 last day of 1st grade

Harrison's class had an ice cream party the last 45 minutes of class.  We were able to get a couple of class pictures, one serious and one silly.

the class gave Mrs. Grzesik a frame with a signed mat and class picture.  She loved it.
Ms. Grzesik was an excellent teacher for Harrison.  He made some huge progress in her class this year and we are thankful for how God provided for our boys this year when it came to their teachers.

Mr. Fesler was a great teacher for Jackson this year.  We are thankful for the him and the way he worked with Jackson to make 1st grade a very successful year!

 School is OUT!!!  WOO HOO!!
We got straight in the car with Daddy and Princess to go to VA for the weekend.  Addison was still in FL with Mimi and Papa.  We decided they could fly her in to Norfolk and we would pick her up there.  Can't wait to celebrate the beginning of Summer with the VA cousins!!!

End of Year School Awards Ceremony

It's hard to believe we have already finished another year of school!  Where is the time going?!  On Wednesday, both Harrison and Jackson received awards at school.  We are so proud of our boys!

Harrison received an award for "excellence in work habits"
we are SO proud of his hard work in school!

Jackson had told me at breakfast I wasn't allowed to take any pictures.  little stinker!  He should have known that would be an impossible task for his mother! :)

Jackson received the "most improved" award for his class!  He has worked SO hard this year and has made incredible progress in all subject areas this year!  Super proud of our boy!

Jackson also received the character award for "good judgment".  Now that is a GREAT award to receive!  My favorite story from this day was after we left and headed home Jackson kept saying he got the "most important" award.  He was meaning to say most improved.  Adorable!  Of course, both Jackson and Harrison are MOST IMPORTANT to us! :)

Field Day 2012

Loved being at Field Day with my boys!  It was HOT outside.  Addison got to have a playdate with Kinsey so I could get over to the school and help out.  It was a great day!

Jackson did NOT let his boot slow him down!

Harrison's class talked their teacher, Ms. Grzesik into playing Tug of War with them.  She was a very good sport and the kids LOVED that she played with them!

Fall Party and Caramel Apples

We had a really fun Fall Party in Harrison's class. Tonya and I organized a Caramel Apple assembly line for the kids and they had a BALL!!!

We dipped the apples in Caramel and then at each table the kids had lots of toppings to choose from to put on their apples...Oreos, sprinkles, m&m's, etc... YUM YUM!!!

I found that I really enjoy an Oreo/Carmel dipped apple! :) It was great to be able to spend this time with Harrison in his class and make memories with him. I worried the whole night before, and most of the week before, about the logistics of everything and worried about scorched caramel, etc... It turned out wonderfully and was a great success and most of all the kids had a blast!

Bus Ride

Harrison had a field trip on Friday of last week to the Farmer's Market in downtown Raleigh. I was able to go and it was a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed seeing him interact with his classmates and getting to know his teachers better. One of the highlights of the trip for Harrison was riding the bus. We take him and pick him up from school everyday so he doesn't get to ride the bus. You can barely see him in the picture but I had to take it anyway!

NO STICKER TODAY!!!

Harrison had his first day without earning a sticker at school for the day. He was SO upset and kept saying he was embarrassed! :( He wants SO bad to never get in trouble at school. We had Open House and PTA meeting at school tonight. After we were dismissed to class, his teacher, Mrs. Lee, explained a few things about their class and then mentioned that almost the entire class didn't get their sticker today. They were all acting up in Music Class and I guess they did the same thing last week! Ha! :) He said he'd do better next time! :) It reminds me of the time my sister Grace was so scared of getting a RED BLOCK at school! It terrified her to the point of not wanting to even go to school that year!!!! He's not that extreme but he does pride himself in being a good boy! I'm glad of course but just reassured him he has the chance to start over tomorrow and make a better choice! He was able to finally put it behind him! :) I signed up to be Room Parent for his class so another mom and myself are going to tag team together! I'm excited! I've always wanted to be Room Mom! :)

Here's some of Harrison's work that he brought home from school this week! He was very proud of his papers and so are Mommy and Daddy! It looks like he has worked very hard to do his VERY BEST on everything! I wanted you all to be able to see what I was greeted with after school today! I'm so proud of my big boy and his hard work this week! I already know I'm going to be looking forward to the Friday Work Folder all week long! Good job Harrison!!!

Harrison's FIRST day of school!

Harrison woke up SO excited this morning for his first day of school! He got himself dressed and ready for school with such anticipation! I was so excited for him. He ate his breakfast, had time to watch Curious George, and then we were out the door for a quick picture and then off to school! :) On our way to school, I told him that everyday we would pray for his day before he goes into class. He wanted to pray right then and there and Harrison had the sweetest things to say in his prayer about Jesus watching out for him, that he would make friends, and that Mommy, Daddy, and Jackson wouldn't miss him too much. I was so proud of my little boy in that moment! He really wanted Jesus to bless his day!
We walked into his classroom and Mrs. Lee was waiting for him with a GREAT BIG smile on her face. She was as friendly as could be and looked like she was going to be a fabulous teacher! He was grinning from ear to ear. I'm sure he'll have a crush on her in no time. He got straight to work putting his stuff in his cubbie and then off to help work a puzzle with a new pal. Jackson tried to pull out a few Lego's while I filled out some paperwork. It was clear that he would really like to stay at school too! :) I snapped a quick picture of Harrison and his Kindergarten teacher and then Jackson and I walked to the door. Harrison came running up to us and gave us big hugs and said goodbye as happy as ever. Just what a mom wants, to see him comfortable and excited to stay! I was thrilled! I felt my eyes water as he walked back to his teacher and we walked away but it was out of joy! I was so proud of my boy and so excited for the new experiences he is about to encounter! These are precious times!
I headed straight to the office to sign up for the PTA. I volunteered for the Spring Carnival and to be a Library Helper. I want to make sure those people know who Harrison's mom is and that they know I'll be popping in quite regularly! :)
I'm off to get my boy...I can't wait to hear all that he's been up to! Thank you all for your comments, prayers, and encouragement. I am so blessed to have my friends/family and have all of you love my boy enough to care about his first day of school! You guys are the best and I don't know what I would do without each and every one of you!!!!
