Hilton Head Favorites

Well, clearly the 2000+ photos that were taken on our fabulous Hilton Head Vacation in AUGUST have overwhelmed me. I must get them posted though or I fear I may never blog again and I miss it...blogging that is. So here goes. Just gonna post my favorites and then move on.

There are still a lot of photos (100+) but at least not as many as were taken! :)

This is what Mimi looked like on most of our vacation...


it is so wonderful to have so many pictures to remember this trip. i am thankful. we had such a wonderful time catching up and watching the kids get to know each other!








we rented bikes for the weeks. they were a blast! we rode with the kids every night and some mornings. those are some of my favorite memories of the week! Jackson loved it so much he and Anthony went on long morning or afternoon rides just the two of them.

the boys loved riding on the luggage cart with Papa for any reason...like bringing up the groceries!

Poor Addison did NOT like the sand. she made sure we knew it too. i thought maybe she would get over it but she didn't. if we were on the beach, she was in the stroller. she just doesn't like getting dirty or the way it feels i guess! :)




Mimi tried her best to get Addison to try but she just kept those little feet raised up the entire time












Mimi loved having all her grandbabies together in one place!


we had a double date night at a wonderful restaurant called Santa Fe!






Mimi brought some old vacation videos that made us laugh!























I set her down to try it out again...she made it for a few minutes.

Harrison and Jackson were able to participate in the pool games! so fun!

Ella Rose is the smart one! I think Vonda could have died but we thought it was hilarious! gotta love two year olds! they go for exactly what they know they want. :)

Here was maybe the best attempt of a family picture. I probably have 500 of this brief hour spent that morning. CRAZY! so I just picked one to post.

whew! glad I can now start posting again! Hilton Head is DONE!

here is the proof. saw Sayid - Naveen Andrews - from LOST at the airport in Honolulu, HI. so excited that i was able to get a picture. Anthony didn't want me to make a scene, as usual. 'cause ya'll know what a scene maker i am! hardly. but the opportunity presented itself to say hello and i took it.

Hawaii has been AMAZING! we have had the BEST time.

time out: Sayid from LOST just walked into the President's Club where we are waiting for our flight. OH MY WORD. if only i could work up the courage to say hello!!! how fun to see someone from LOST. we have been talking about the show this whole week - filmed here...drove by that area. :) i want to get a picture but Anthony says that is not acceptable. AHHH!!!

OK. back to my post. we have had an absolutely incredible time together. so thankful for this chance to celebrate 10 amazing years with my man!

an hour and a half till take off so i'm gonna try to get some posts saved to draft. Anthony's reading the paper and once we're on the flight it will be time to sleep. back to the real world tomorrow.

can hardly WAIT to see the kids. we've sure missed them.

Hawaii

tomorrow morning, bright and early, Anthony and I are leaving for Hawaii! i can hardly believe it's here. we've known about this trip since early spring so it is so hard to believe we are finally going!

it's an early 10 year Anniversary celebration! we figure 9 3/4 years is good enough and we had to use our tickets before the end of the year.

i know we are going to have an amazing time. it is going to be so wonderful to have this chance to reconnect and spend quality, uninterrupted time together. do we even know how that feels anymore? i'm not even sure! so many friends we know have reached this 10 year milestone and have celebrated in the last year. it's been fun to see how much they enjoyed it and i'm so glad it's our turn now!

Mimi and Papa are sacrificing a week of their life to stay with our kids here at our home. what a blessing this is! our kids will be in their own home and can keep up with some regular activities they are involved in WHILE having a BLAST with some very incredible grandparents! yes! we ARE all blessed!

i'm not worried about them a bit. Mimi and Papa are very capable and really do seem to love being with the kids on their own. i'm so thankful for that. i'm so thankful that they see the need for Anthony and I to have this time away.

i am going to miss the kids. but this is going to be good. no, it's going to be GREAT!!! AMAZING!!! INCREDIBLE!!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

so behind

i'm so behind. it feels like in EVERY area. noticeably the blog. i LOVE blogging. it annoy's me that i'm so far behind but it probably doesn't help that i have over 2000 pictures that were taken on our Hilton Head vacation to sift through. i know. ridiculous. :)

i hate to post out of order but i may have to and fix it later. it's been a busy few weeks around here and i have so much to update on beyond the vacation.

things like a new found love of couponing, having a new patio installed, Anthony's 1/2 marathon, first time out on my sister's boat, my decision to train for and run the OBX 1/2 marathon in November, Jackson's first soccer game today, and just regular fun stuff. i have GOT to get a handle on it! y'all practically know NOTHING about me anymore. can you see i have a flair for the dramatic???

i did get bored again and changed my background. :) i was too overwhelmed to deal with the 2000 pictures so i only got one measly post up. been up since 5 this morning so i think i'll call it a night and hope i'll find some time to do more tomorrow.

Hilton Head - Day 1

We arrived on Friday afternoon, August 14, 2009. It was so GREAT to finally be together again! Anthony and the boys hadn't seen Vonda, Ian, and the girls for TWO YEARS!!! It had just been TOO long! The reunion was sweet and we picked up right where we left off.

The kids enjoyed riding the luggage carts to help Papa, Anthony, & Uncle Ian unload the cars. :)



Mimi fixed us a yummy steak dinner and then we all got ready to head the pool!

here is a little peek into our school room. we're in our 3rd week of school now and it's going GREAT! so thankful for that. we love it. we really love it. seriously! :)
