Saturday with the Schrodt's

This past winter, Katy and I started talking about a weekend that would work for a visit.  It's crazy how busy life can get and it seems if you aren't intentional about setting a date months, and months will go by before you see each other again!  Even though we saw each other back in November, the kids had not seen each other since last July.  I couldn't believe it!

So we decided Memorial Day Weekend would work for the both of us and we decided to put it on the calendar.  We couldn't leave until after Anthony got off of work on Friday so it made for a late arrival but we were excited to get there.  Saturday morning the kids played, we had breakfast, and then we packed a lunch for the pool!  Our pool here was not open so the kids could not wait to get their toes in the water!

Katy fixed a yummy Chicken Salad!  We all swam and enjoyed catching up.  There was some drama about one of Jackson's toes that about sent me into a fit but we survived! :)  Even Jackson! :)

Later that afternoon we cooked burgers and hotdogs.  After the kids were finally in bed, we stayed up into the wee hours of the morning talking.  It was great.  Loved catching up and loved talking about our personalities and the personalities of our kids.  So fun to hash those things out with people you love and who love you back...who love your kids too and never make you feel like you have to have it all together... 'cause Lord knows we do NOT have it all together. :)  It was a great start to the weekend!

Field Day 2012

Loved being at Field Day with my boys!  It was HOT outside.  Addison got to have a playdate with Kinsey so I could get over to the school and help out.  It was a great day!

Jackson did NOT let his boot slow him down!

Harrison's class talked their teacher, Ms. Grzesik into playing Tug of War with them.  She was a very good sport and the kids LOVED that she played with them!

Birthday Giftcard

Harrison got a Target giftcard in the mail from Aunt Janet and Uncle Neal a few weeks.  He had already been planning what he would purchase because he knew that the giftcard was on it's way.  Daddy took him to Target to spend his money and he got exactly what he went for...a door alarm.  Grant has one of these and Harrison thought it was so cool he wanted to get one for himself.  Every little boy would like to have an alarm on their bedroom door to keep the intruders...AKA Jackson and Addison out, right???  :)  It makes a loud siren noise if it's opened without the key.  Pretty fun toy.

What we didn't expect was for Harrison to spend the majority of his giftcard on his brother and sister.  While he was shopping he felt a strong desire to use his money to buy gifts for Jackson and Addison and he was SO excited to pass them out when he got home.  I always love when you see these signs of choosing others before self.  He got a lot of joy out of sharing with them and I hope he will always remember it is better to give than to receive.  Jackson loved his new beyblade and Addison loved her coloring book.  He also got a movie for the whole family...Enchanted.   Such a sweet boy!

Jackson's 7th Birthday Party

We celebrated Jackson's 7th Birthday at North Hills Park in Raleigh on Saturday, May 5th.  It was a busy spring and this was the first available weekend to celebrate Jackson!  What fun we had!  He wanted a LEGO themed party and Andrea really came thru on the cake.  She is very talented and I'm thankful she's right out my back door! :)  I made the cakes and then she came over Friday night to assemble and ice the cake.  He LOVED it!  It was a BIG cake too!

we had hotdogs, chips, watermelon, and cookies for lunch!
my big 7 year old boy!
this is a great little park.  we were able to reserve the picnic shelter for a minimal fee and it's right next to a playground that is perfectly situated.  the kids can play but they are so close that you never feel like you are too far from anyone.

Jackson could live on fruit!  seriously!

 Happy Birthday Jackson!
Jackson and Josh, his friend from soccer and church.  These boys are two of a kind!  Hilarious to watch together and both are full of life and FUN!!!

 Jackson & Taylor

Jackson with Kellen, Addie, & Ellary
Camden, Mila, Jackson, & Josiah...Bella was with Addison in the sandbox.
Jackson & Caden, Caroline & Carter were in the sandbox too!

Cailey, Braden & Kinsey were at a choir practice so they couldn't be there but Ephram came to celebrate with us!  He was in the sandbox too!  That's where all the littles spend most of their time.  Aidan, Riley, & Duncan had to leave early before I could get a pictur of them with Jackson.
What a FUN afternoon, celebrating Jackson!  He was happy to get home to work on all of his LEGO's.  He was so cute and said, "mom, you like me playing LEGO's right?  LEGO's make me calm".  HAHA...He is awfully quiet when he's working so I guess they do make him calm.  We love you Jackson Reed Williams!  You are such a fun part of our family and we are so thankful we get to love on you and be your parents! :)
