Addison Grace is finally here!!!

Our baby girl is finally here! She is completely heavenly and we are SO in love!!!
She was born today...Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 9:39 AM
8lbs 6oz and 20 inches long
a bit of brown hair and dark blue eyes
Her eyes and nose remind us of Harrison and her cheeks and lips remind us of Jackson. She seems to be a nice little mix of both boys! :) We love her to pieces and are thrilled she is finally here! She was well worth the wait! God has blessed us incredibly with a darling, healthy baby girl and we cannot thank Him enough! The delivery went perfectly and we just couldn't be happier with how the day's events unfolded!
More and more pictures to come as I know you can imagine! Stay tuned....

a date set

no baby yet. next thursday i will be induced if the baby has not decided to come.

the negative - REALLY hoping i don't have another full week. not feeling like i can make it that long

the positive - God's timing is perfect and at least there is an end in sight. can't go on like this forever.

thanks for all of your encouragement! it will all be worth it when we are holding our girl in our arms and we are thinking only of that! :)

a FIRST

happy due date to me, happy due date to me....

up until this pregnancy, i have never made it to my due date. the boys both came 7 days early. i can't say that i'm thrilled about my accomplishment but i am trying to accept it gracefully.

a note: if you cannot be sympathetic about my situation and i know there will be those of you out there, please just don't bother commenting. i'm afraid it may affect our relationship once this is all over. i'm a very hormonal pregnant woman who is ready for her baby to be here. :)

so, just so you are all up to date. we are waiting "patiently" for our baby girl. :) off to the doctor today at 3pm, not expecting any exciting news to report but we'll certainly let you know if there is.

date night

tonight anthony and i had a night out, just the two of us! perfect!!!! we left the kids with some friends from church and headed over to Durham. we ate at Piazza Italiano...DELICIOUS!!! the weather was SO beautiful. we sat outside and there was a nice breeze, completely wonderful.

then, after we finished, we headed over to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens over at Duke University. vonda and ian got married there in 2005 and we haven't been over there since. jackson was only two months old and now, here i am, pregnant and about to give birth to another baby! :) it was so beautiful. the roses are in full bloom and the weather couldn't have been more perfect! we walked, held hands, and just enjoyed our time ALONE! :)

it was the most wonderful evening and absolutely perfect timing. we won't be heading out ALONE much once this baby girl arrives so it was good that we got it in while we still can!!! :)

a trip to the picture people

Here are the latest pictures of the boys. I was so pleased with how they turned out! Of course I'm biased, you know! :)
Harrison 6 years old
Jackson 3 years old

sunday afternoon with friends

Sunday afternoon, May 4th, the boys spent the afternoon with some friends from church while mommy was experiencing some "false" labor. It's didn't feel very false and was quite painful but the hospital was able to make it go away and sent me home to wait a little longer. :)

As you can see from the pictures, the boys had a blast! I'm so thankful for the friendships that we've made in our Life Class and thankful that the kids are making friendships as well! Laura is fast becoming a professional with the camera. She's going to take pictures of the baby when she arrives and I can hardly wait! I know they will be incredible! I think we've found our new family photographer! :) Thanks Laura & Geof for taking our boys and entertaining them for the day! It meant so much to know they were in good hands!

Harrison

Jackson

Brothers (this picture was obviously before his haircut! :))

Harrison & Addie - this little sweetheart has taken a liking to Harrison and it's the cutest thing! Harrison doesn't mind the attention at all and I'm told they were quite cute hanging out for the afternoon! :)

They even got to go to Jack's house for a bonfire and s'mores! Although most of the kids wouldn't even try the s'mores because the marshmallows looked brown and yucky. :)

Jackson and his good buddy Jack

Jackson is quite the baby lover. He can't keep his hands off of them! He was able to get a lot of practice trying to be "gentle" while playing with Sam and Ellary. He just loves babies...sometimes a little too much! :)

T-Ball Season 2008

Harrison's T-Ball Team Spring 2008

Isn't he just the cutest!!!

Jackson was ready to go! Observant parents that we are, we didn't notice Jackson was missing shoes until we got to the ball field. Oh well, I love being barefoot and he didn't seem to mind much either! :) This was also Jackson's birthday so we really had a big day planned!

Coach Anthony!

Harrison had practically finished his water bottle before the game began.

Jackson wished so badly he could join his big brother in the dug out! Won't be long...

Jackson and Mimi cheering on Harrison!

look at that little tongue! such concentration! :)

I'm so proud of our boy! He has really enjoyed T-Ball this year. Last year everything was still so new and he wasn't all that sure about it. Now he feels like he owns the field and it's so fun to see his confidence growing and his excitement too! Daddy is very proud!!!

We brought Jackson's Big Wheel because it's hard for little boys to stay interested in a game. There is a hill right next to the field that he figured out he could roll down and get up some good speed. He was hilarious! He is definitely the family dare devil! :)

another haircut

I've been asking Jackson if I could cut his hair for a couple of weeks now. He has cried at every haircut he has gotten in his 3 short years of life. My mom cautioned me because he just has such a fit. She's been worried I would cut him or myself...she cut herself last time she cut his hair in March. Yes, March was his last haircut!!! :) So, I asked him the other day while we were playing in the back yard if he wanted to have mommy cut his hair and he said YES!!! So, immediately...and I'm not kidding...we went inside and I got everything out. I gave him a little bag of Jelly Beans and he didn't even cry or fuss once! I couldn't believe it! It was actually easier to cut than Harrison's because his hair is more forgiving. Harrison's hair is so straight and blunt that it can show imperfections easily. I was so happy with how it turned out and most of all happy that he agreed and it wasn't a traumatic experience! Hooray!!! :)

understanding Jackson

Jackson: "a hold a me?"

most would think he wants to be held. right? nope.

interpretation: "how old am I?"

he can't seem to remember his new age of 3 so he keeps asking me to make sure. so cute! :)

Addison's Nursery

I've finished the nursery! I have a couple more things I'd like to get for the shelf and for the bookcase (once the diapers cakes have been disassembled) but I don't know what yet and will just pick them up as I come across them. :) It feels SO good to have this accomplished and I can truly say we are ready to greet her! I LOVE the room, I LOVE the colors, I LOVE the plaques hanging over the crib, I just LOVE everything! It's exactly what I'd pictured in my head! So, now we just need our baby girl to arrive so she can check out her new room! :)

I love the diaper cakes! The HOT pink one Katy made and is size 1 diapers and the Pink & Green one was made by my friend Laura from church and they are size 2 diapers! Perfect! I get to enjoy them and don't have to tear them apart too quickly! Perfect!!!

I had seen these on a website but didn't like the colors they came in...wouldn't match the room. My friend Natalie is quite the "crafty" girl so I asked her if she thought she could do it. She was up for the challenge and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY!!! I LOVE THEM!!! It was the perfect finishing touch to the room! Thanks Nat!!! :)

Next time I post pictures of the nursery, hopefully our baby girl will be laying peacefully in her bed! :) Can't wait!!!!
