OK, we know this will sound CRAZY to many of you but Anthony and I have never carved pumpkin's before. We are 30 years old, I know! Both of our families just didn't do pumpkin carving so we've never ventured out on our own to try this out until now! Katy has been trying to get me to do this for two years. However, two years ago I just felt like Harrison was too young to really enjoy it and last year we were moving to NC.
Side note...can you believe it's been a year now since we moved to Raleigh?? I can't believe it's been that long. Our house in VA was totally empty of all our belongings on Halloween and we had to Trick-or-Treat in my mom's neighborhood...which was still fun. :)
Anyway, we carved our first pumpkin's last night! We had a great time! Anthony wouldn't hear of anything simple...triangle eyes, nose, mouth...he wanted his first pumpkin carving to be memorable! He did a GREAT job! The boys both helped with the first one and then after they were in bed he decided to work on a more difficult design on his own. I think pumpkin carving is his new passion! ha! just kidding! We had a FABULOUS time and this will definitely become a new Williams' family tradition! :)
More later on our Trick-or-Treating tonight!

Funny - I just took a break from carving Addie's pumpkin to check email, etc. I am using the same pattern book you are - I wanted to do the window scene, but she INSISTED that I do the "bone guy." She loves all the scary Halloween stuff, so I gave in and said the skull would be ok. I must be crazy... Anyway, I have a long afternoon of carving out little teeth ahead of me. :) Your pumpkins look great.
Oh my word, Anthony is so talented!!! I had no idea...why didn't we carve pumpkins when we were little??? I have never carved my own either but Ian has done a couple on my behalf. Does that count??? I'm so impressed! Love ya -V

I don't believe it - that window one looks way too difficult. I tried to comment on the boys costumes, but it didn't take - they look great, and I love the muscles. What a fun night.
I was thinking about it the other day, that it had been one year since you guys moved. We miss you so much, but you still seem so close. We are so glad that you have found a neighborhood and church that you love and that you get more time with Anthony, especially now that number 3 is on its way! Can't wait to see you next weekend.
I CANNOT believe this was the first time ya'll had ever carved pumpkins!!! And seriously, the pumpkins you carved are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! You went from instant novice to complete pro!!! HOW FUN!!! :)
Those pumpkins are amazing! They look like they were done by a professional. Amazing.
