Reflections of a Mom's Life

home

we're home. anthony and i had a FABULOUS time celebrating our anniversary in Las Vegas and at The Grand Canyon. i have pictures that hopefully i'll post tomorrow. need sleep. i didn't sleep a wink on any plane we took this trip. i blame the pregnancy...not a good pregnant traveler. very happy there won't be any more plane trips until AFTER the baby.

but, LOVED every minute of our trip. mimi and papa came and watched the boys and they just do the most terrific job. they keep life going as usual and while mom shared her woes of HATING any form of discipline when it comes to the grandchildren, she did a GREAT job keeping them in line and they didn't seem to run over them too much...maybe a little but that's expected when grandparents are involved! :) the boys loved their time with mimi and papa and we are so thankful they are willing to come and just be with our boys.

it was so nice for anthony and i to be together, alone, and to reconnect. one of my favorite parts of the trip was the car ride from Las Vegas to The Grand Canyon and back. it was so peaceful to talk, sit in silence, and just be alone in the car together! we laughed tonight about the fact that we got along SO INCREDIBLY well on our trip. with kids, work, responsibilities there is always something to get easily worked up about. it was so wonderful to be reminded of how much we really do enjoy each other's company.

and what joy it was to see our boys again! we missed them so much! as much as we loved getting away, it's so amazing to me how i still have this little ache in my heart when i'm away from our boys. they are our life.

ok, really, i have to go to bed. when i got home this morning i hadn't slept in 27 hours. i felt like i had returned from an over seas trip i was so dead. mom let me sleep from 9am to 1pm today. but now, i need MORE sleep!!!!

i'll post more later. i've started making the rounds to the blogs and i haven't finished yet...i will though, you all know how much i love this blogging and love leaving you all comments! :)

Beth, so glad you and Anthony were able to get away for a long weekend and so glad y'all enjoyed your time together. That can be so refreshing, but then again we haven't left our baby girl overnight yet, but the time will come when we return to The States. I know how wonderful it is to just go out to dinner with Ian by myself without handing out 100 Puffs within an hour. :) Sigh...Can't wait to see the pixs! Love ya -V

Can't wait to touch base with you today. I've missed my dear friend this weekend...but I knew Anthony wouldn't take too kindly to receiving phone calls from kschrodt on his anniversary trip!!! I loved that while I read this post I was listening to "your song". (by the way, read Courtney's post from a few days ago about a date night she did with Pat). Love you girl! Welcome back!

Yay for you and Anthony!! Glad you got a chance to take a little babymoon (does that consitute a babymoon when you already have kids? just a thought). You picked a great time to hit up Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Last time I was there (at the GC) it was 116 degrees at 8am!! Now get some rest young lady. Then post picture. :)
