a BIG BOY bed!

Today was a big day in Jackson's little life. Anthony took down the side of his bed to give him a toddler bed, or BIG BOY bed as we call it. I've been wanting to do it for a while but just haven't committed to it! As you can see, he was devastated! He thought Daddy had completely ruined his bed. If you haven't spent any time with Jackson lately, you wouldn't understand how particular he has become. He needs a bit more routine than Harrison did and likes to have things a certain way. He doesn't like ANY of his foods to touch each other and wants to be advised of all plans before hand. He doesn't really like things being sprung on him and I have to admit, I tend to do that quite often. Harrison has always just gone with the flow but Jackson needs a bit more coaxing! So, you can imagine that this was quite difficult for him to handle. It completely broke his heart and I don't think he knew what he was going to do! After lunch, we headed up for nap. He cried as he laid down because he was so upset about his new bed. He got up once and had to be given a little "talk" about needing permission to leave his bed. I laid him back down and he went right off to sleep. I half expected him to wake up early but he slept his normal 2 1/2 hour nap and called for me before he got out of bed! Success! For now! :) Bedtime went well and he's fast asleep right now. There's a gate on the door to prevent any sleep walking down the stairs so hopefully this transition will continue to be as smooth as it has been today! Sort of sad, nobody in a crib! :(

Well I guess its time to start thinking about filling that crib up again!!!!! Hope tonight's sleep goes well and Jackson adjusts to his new big boy bed. He's grown up so quickly.

I was wondering when this weekend it was going to happen!!! sounds like it's been successful so far - except for the broken heart along the way!!!

That is so sad! Hopefully the tears will be short lived. I was thinking the same thing as Jen. Time for another one! :)

Oh is he just pitiful or what??? My little Jackson concerned about half of his bed missing! Well Beth, any day you want to announce that I'm going to have a 3rd nephew or 1st niece is fine with me. :) Love ya -V

That is so cute, Jett never did well either with changes. It was a lot easier to put Jett into a big boy bed, but just the thought of putting Jenson in one makes me so sad! Just another sign of them getting bigger!

Poor little fellow! I love how he thought his crib was broken! Too funny. He is such a cutie, even when he's bawling. Sorta reminds me of his mommy!(minus the coke bottles:))) Love ya:), Bridge

Beth,
The picture says it all...He didn't understand the concept of turning his crib into a Big Boy bed. I would have thought it was broken too. I'm with you Little J! It is probably less devastating for a little one to get a New Bed, rather than see the one they love ruined.....Absolutely precious picture!!!!!!!!!!!

How precious! And Sad....but I think it probably is the best thing to do rather than to wait for my 3rd little one to come and he be booted out of his bed! Somehow that just would not have seemed right to him I am sure.

Another milestone come & gone! That's too funny, you'd expect Jackson to go with the flow more being the 2nd child! I love the snapshots of him upset - what a cute little crying face!!! Congratulations Jackson- you are a big boy!!!

That picture is pathetic Beth! I was laughing at the last picture. Good job sticking to your guns though even after seeing that face!
